Secure the VERT-O-MATIC DRUMASTER to the lift truck.  Contact the drum(s) with the arms about six inches below the rolling hoop.  Drive up snug and lift.  Holding is maintained by the gravity force of the drum(s) on the gripping arms.  Bouncing, jarring or other rough handling may dislodge drum(s).  To disengage arms, lower the drum(s) to a solid surface, and continue to lower the VOM about six inches before withdrawing straight back.

 
   
 

Secure the RIM-O-MATIC DRUMASTER to the lift truck.  With the mast slightly forward-tilted, contact the drum(s) with the gripping head below the top.  Raise (not by back-tilting) and the grippers will lock onto the rim of the drum(s).  Holding is maintained by the gravity force of the drum(s) being handled.  Bouncing, jarring or other rough handling may dislodge drum(s).  To disengage grippers, lower the drum(s) to a solid surface, and continue to lower the ROM about four inches before withdrawing.

 
   
 

Secure the OPEN-HEAD DRUMASTER to the lift truck.  With the mast slightly forward-tilted, contact the drum(s) with the hook above the top.  Lower the hook several inches inside the drum(s).  Drive up snug; the bottom cradle activates the top gripper.  Raise.  Holding is maintained by the gravity force of the drum(s) being handled.  Bouncing, jarring or other rough handling may dislodge drum(s).  To disengage, lower the drum(s) to a solid surface, withdraw slightly to release gripper, and raise the OH to clear the drum(s).

 
   
 

POSITIONING the CHAIN-LOCKING BRACKET   -   Attach (weld) the chain-locking bracket to the left side of the mast of the lift truck approximately 48 in (122 cm) from the ground.

MOUNTING   -   Secure the DRUM DUMPER to the fork lift truck.   Load center calculations are based upon mounting at a distance of 4 in (10 cm) from the vertical face of the forks.

FASTENING the CHAIN   -   Any link of the chain may be slipped into the slot of the chain-locking bracket.   Slack in the chain will allow the drum to reach the desired dumping height.   Enough chain is provided to empty the drum at a height of 120 in (3 m).   The chain-locking bracket holds any excess chain.

ENGAGING the DRUM   -   Raise the DRUM DUMPER and then lower the ring over the drum.
The gripping mechanism will lock onto the lip of the drum.   A lanyard controls the lever that disengages the lock.

ACTIVATING the DUMPING MECHANISM   -   Raise the forks until the chain is tight.   As raising continues, the drum turns forward.   While the drum is ascending, the pouring lip is decending.   Lower the forks to bring the empty drum back to the upright position.

 
   
 

Secure the SELF-LEVELING SCOOP to the lift truck; a length of chain with a hook is provided for fork-mounted models.  When lowered, the scoop shell will be flat on the ground.  If scooping long paths, it is recommended that the width of the scoop be greater than the width of the lift truck.  When the attachment is raised, the scoop shell will tilt back automatically.  Dumping is accomplished by pulling the lanyard-controlled release lever.  Lower the attachment back to a solid surface to reset for scooping.

Horizontal Center of  Gravity of  Attachment is measured either forward(+) or back(-) from the tip of the forks if fork-mounted, and is measured forward(+) from the faceplate of the lift truck if carriage-mounted.

Vertical Center of  Gravity of  Attachment is measured either up(+) or down(-) from the horizontal face of the forks if fork-mounted, and is measured down(-) from the top of the faceplate of the lift truck if carriage-mounted.

Load Center of drum(s) is measured forward(+) from the tip of the forks for fork-mounted attachments, and from the faceplate of the lift truck for carriage-mounted attachments.

Vertical Center of  Gravity of  Load (full drum handled as shown) is measured either up(+) or down(-) from the horizontal face of the forks for fork-mounted attachments, and is measured down(-) from the top of the faceplate of the lift truck for carriage-mounted attachments.
